Fresh off a bus tour of electorally crucial Ohio and Pennsylvania, President Obama plans to make a return trip next weekend to another swing state — Virginia.

Obama is no stranger to the state. He staged a major rally to launch his campaign in May at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, and he has also made multiple visits in an official capacity.

Several polls have showed a close race in the state between Obama and Mitt Romney (R), though most — including a Washington Post survey released in May — gave the incumbent a narrow lead. Virginia has also been a magnet for outside spending, including a new $3.4 million ad buy from the pro-Republican group Crossroads GPS.
