Romney’s campaign hires Virginia director Sara Craig

Now that the primary is all but over, presumed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is ramping up his campaign in Virginia.

Sara Craig, who is in charge of managing all of Romney’s political operations across the state, came from Iowa, where she was state director during the primary.

She worked on other races in Iowa, North Dakota and Tennessee, where she served as campaign manager to Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey in his run for governor.

“Sara is one of the best political operatives in the country,’’ said Rich Beeson, Romney political director. “Her work for Governor Romney in Iowa set the standard for commitment and performance under pressure.  We are excited to have her at the helm of Governor Romney’s operation in Virginia.”

“I’m excited to be a part of Gov. Romney’s Virginia team,'' Craig said in a statement. "We have already seen a huge amount of enthusiasm for Gov. Romney and his pro-growth, pro-jobs message, and we are confident that voters across the Commonwealth will help us make Barack Obama a one term president and get our country back on the right track.''
