Virginia Republicans will kick off their 2012 campaign efforts Thursday night with a Northern Virginia fundraiser headlined by Gov. Bob McDonnell and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.
Pete Snyder, chairman of the Virginia Victory 2012 campaign, said the event will be the biggest ever in the swing state of Virginia for a Republican presidential challenger.
The fundraiser, which will take place at Snyder’s home, includes nearly two dozen hosts, including state GOP chairman Pat Mullins and major Republican fundraisers Fred and Marlene Malek. Several state legislators are expected as well as Bobbie Kilberg, president and chief executive of the Northern Virginia Technology Council.
The invitation refers to packages of up to $20,000, but Snyder said the campaign is also launching an effort to quadruples the number of small donations.
