Fairfax student followed home by suspicious man

An alert was sent to Fairfax County parents with children at West Springfield High School Tuesday afternoon after a female student was followed home Monday night.

The Fairfax County Police department said the student left the West Springfield campus by car at around 8 p.m. on Monday. Beginning at the intersection of Old Keene Mill Road and Bauer Drive, she was followed home by an older man she did not know.

Upon reaching her home, the student was approached by the man. She was able to get inside her house before the subject reached her. He fled the scene. She was unharmed in the incident, but police are still investigating the case.

The man is described as having short black hair, standing about 5 feet 7 inches tall and appearing to be in in his late 20s or early 30s. He was driving a dark blue sedan with four doors and a rear spoiler. If you have information regarding the incident, call the Fairfax County police at 703 691 21231.
