It wasn’t easy, but the judges have narrowed the list to three finalists in our Historic Home Contest. They will decide which one receives the grand prize of a two-night stay at the Churchill Hotel, one of the Historic Hotels of America properties in the District. The two runners-up receive a year’s membership to the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

But we’d like to know which one you would choose. The Eastlake town house in Northwest Washington? The Lord Fairfax house in Old Town Alexandria? Or the Madison house in Brookeville?

Our judges — Simon Jacobsen, Katherine Malone-France and Jura Koncius — picked these three homes as the top contenders for the grand prize. The grand prize winner will be featured in the Oct. 20 Real Estate section.

Click through the photo gallery then tell us which one you like best by voting in the poll below. The results won’t count toward the grand prize but we will mention who the readers’ favorite is when we unveil the winner on Oct. 20.
