The Wizards (1-11) will try to end a three-game losing streak as they host the Houston Rockets in a matinee at Verizon Center. Coach Flip Saunders and Kevin McHale face each other as coaches for the first time. Saunders and McHale were college teammates at Minnesota, then worked together for nearly 10 years with the Timberwolves – Saunders as coach and McHale as general manager. McHale fired Saunders and replaced him as head coach in February 2005. McHale returned to coach in 2008-09 – when Saunders was away from the game after his stint in Detroit.

“Something new,” Saunders said. “Good to see that he’s back after a year or two. He decided, even though he was in the booth, and it’s a lot more comfortable there. Sometimes those competitive juices, you can’t get it out of your system. And I think, just getting back in the trenches, he felt, he missed too much.”

Trevor Booker will also face his cousin, Jordan Hill, for the first time. Discuss these topics and more in the comments below. You can also join the conversation on Twitter with Michael Lee (@MrMichaelLee).
