The select team will train against U.S. men’s national team from July 6-11 in Las Vegas. Former Toronto Raptors coach and 2010 USA world championship assistant Jay Triano and Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins will guide the squad as it prepares the national team for the London Olympics.

Wall competed for the Junior National Select at the 2009 Nike Hoop Summit and long desired to participate in international competitions for the senior team. The Select team is often the first step toward advancing up the ranks. Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Kevin Love, Andre Iguodala and Russell Westbrook competed for the select team in 2008 and went on the win a gold medal at the world championships in Turkey.

“The 2012 Select Team has an excellent collection of talents. The group has outstanding speed and versatility, some excellent shooters, and some very good size,” USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo said in a statement. “It will be great to have them involved in USA Basketball and in the National Team pipeline for our next quadrennium, 2013-16.”
