The Wizards will be without Andray Blatche, Rashard Lewis and Cartier Martin, which will give rookie Trevor Booker his seventh career start and a matchup against Clippers rookie sensation Blake Griffin. “Trevor, he’s going to have a heck of a challenge because one, he’s undersized. Griffin is 6-10. Book is about 6-6½,” Coach Flip Saunders said. “But Book will compete, I know that. If Griffin scores, it’s not going to be because of the lack of effort on Booker’s part.” Although John Wall will get his first game against the prohibitive favorite to win rookie of the year in Griffin, JaVale McGee will also get a chance to see Griffin for the first time since he finished runner-up in the Slam Dunk contest. Asked about how he felt a month after the defeat, McGee said, “I’m not really concerned about it any more. But I’m not even going against Blake. He’s a four, and I’m a five, but our teams are going against each other so we’re competing against each other so yeah, it’ll be a good competition.”
