Nene is set to make his Wizards debut on Wednesday as the team concludes its season-long six-game road trip against the Nets at Prudential Center. Coach Randy Wittman gave the veteran big man the starting nod over Kevin Seraphin, who had been playing well in the three games since the three-team trade with Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers.

“He’s a guy that’s been to the playoffs, been through the wars and that’s something we don’t have from that standpoint. I think it’s going to be a big plus. I think it’ll help everybody,” Wittman said of Nene. “His knowledge of the game. His know-how of playing both ends of the floor is something a team can always use and I think we’re going to find out that these guys blend in pretty well.”

The Wizards are hoping to make up for their season-opening loss, as they blew a 21-point lead. Washington only has two starters remaining from that game, with Andray Blatche and Rashard Lewis both benched as they deal with injuries and JaVale McGee getting dealt to Denver.
