The Washington Wizards welcome NBA dunk champion Blake Griffin, all-star point guard Chris Paul and the rest of the Pacific Division leading Los Angeles Clippers to Verizon Center on Saturday night.

The game also marks the return of former Wizards player Caron Butler for the first time since he was dealt along with Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to the Dallas Mavericks as part of Washington’s rebuilding process.

The Wizards are coming off a blowout loss to Toronto, 106-89, on Friday night in one of least inspired performances since Randy Wittman took over as coach. Wittman has held players accountable — and they had responded with encouraging and determined performances despite winning just two of six games he has coached.
