The Washington Wizards have lost two straight games by a combined 43 points and have hardly resembled the group that won twice in Coach Randy Wittman’s first five games.
The most recent beating came against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night. Washington fell behind early and trailed by as many as 36 points in the second half of a 107-81 loss at Verizon Center.
Following that game, Wittman discussed perhaps inserting another verteran into the lineup in place of starting forward Rashard Lewis. But during his pregame session with the media on Monday, Wittman backed off that and said instead he was mulling a change in rotation. Stay tuned to see what develops against Toronto, which throttled the Wizards on Friday, 106-89, at Air Canada Centre.
