Olesya Zhukovskaya's latest tweet (@OlesyaZhukovska/Twitter)

A little bit of good news out of Ukraine this morning. Olesya Zhukovskaya, a young medic who tweeted "I'm dying" after being shot during clashes in Kiev, has survived her surgery.

Zhukovskaya became a subject of headlines all around the world, with her tweet providing a personal glimpse into a conflict that could sometimes feel all too surreal and distant.

Zhukovskaya apparently isn't unaware of her newfound fame, and tweeted this morning to let everyone know she is okay.

"I'm alive!," her tweet begins, "Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for me!"
