Arlington-based Hunch Analytics, the data analytics venture co-founded by Aneesh Chopra, the nation’s first chief technology officer, has another well-known name in its C-suite: Former MicroStrategy co-founder Sanju K. Bansal is the firm’s chief executive.
Bansal stepped down as MicroStrategy’s executive vice president late last year after establishing the company nearly a quarter century ago with his college fraternity brother Michael Saylor.
He officially departed the Tysons Corner company earlier this year when he relinquished his post as vice chairman of the board of directors. Bansal did not respond to requests for comment on this story.
His position at Hunch Analytics was disclosed in a January Securities and Exchange Commission filing submitted by Cvent, a McLean-based event software company where Bansal serves on the board of directors.
As a limited liability company registered in the state of Delaware, Hunch Analytics is not required to disclose the names of executives or directors in corporate registration documents, said a spokeswoman for Delaware’s Division of Corporations.
Capital Business reported earlier this week that Chopra is co-founder and executive vice president of Hunch Analytics. Dan Ross, a former managing director at Reston-based Claraview, is also listed on LinkedIn as a co-founder and executive vice president.
Information about Hunch Analytics, a company that uses data to help executives in health care, energy and education make smarter business decisions, is scarce beyond what’s published on its Web site and social media accounts.
Ross and Chopra have declined requests to speak about the company.
“Our proprietary algorithms and decision-engines are built by mashing up public and private databases to help organizations optimize productivity and profitability,” the firm’s Web site states.
