The HUB, a Washington-based networking group, will hold a panel discussion Thursday on how companies can protect their computer networks against cybersecurity breaches.
The panel will explore what important precautions businesses need to take and what chief information officers and chief technology officers can do to guard their organizations.
Panelists will include William Brennan of Lockheed Martin, Christopher Garcia Sr. of Calibre, Kevin Jones of Thycotic Software, Chris Kauffman of Personam and Brett Wilson of Cyren.

Wednesday: The Northern Virginia Technology Council will hold a panel discussion on “Protecting Your Company From Danger Abroad: Issues to be Wary of When Doing Business Internationally.” The event begins at 7:15 a.m. at the Ritz-Carlton, 1700 Tysons Blvd., McLean. $45 for members, $75 for nonmembers.
Thursday: Daymond John, founder of clothing company FUBU, is to give the keynote address at the D.C. Chamber of Commerce’s Champions Small Business Awards & Expo. The half-day event begins at 11 a.m. at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown Hotel, 999 Ninth St. NW. Admission is free. Luncheon is $100 for members, $150 for nonmembers.
On Wednesday, Federal Reserve Chair Janet L. Yellen is scheduled to deliver the commencement address for New York University at Yankees Stadium. In the afternoon, the Fed’s open market committee releases the minutes of its last meeting. Existing home-sale data will be released Thursday, followed Friday by an update on new-home sales.
