Economic inequality contributing to gap in life expectancy

Two counties in Florida illustrate the effect that income and healthful lifestyles can have on life expectancy. Less affluent Putnam County is near the bottom, with an average life expectancy of 71.4 years for men and 78.5 for women. The more affluent St. Johns County has the highest, at 78.3 years for men and 82.5 years for women. (Read related article)
