App review: NBC Olympics Highlights brings you closer to the Sochi Games

NBC Olympics Highlights
Practically rinkside at the Sochi Games

Got Olympic fever? Then NBC Olympics Highlights should be your companion for the next several days. Crazy for curling? Check out the schedules section to see when you can next catch all that sweet sweeping action. Feeling competitive? Tap the medal count to see who’s bringing home the most gold. Users can track Olympic results by sport as well if, for instance, you’re mad for skiing but could take or leave ice dancing. Finally, those looking for news bites can also watch highlights and follow the highest-trending news out of Sochi.

The app doesn’t require a sign-in, although users can opt to have the app sync with their calendars to schedule watch parties. You can also get push notifications — or not, if you don’t want spoilers. Free, for iOS and Android devices.

NBC Olympics Highlights keeps track of medal counts and syncs with calendars for scheduling viewings. (itunes.apple.com)
