While some iOS apps have worked with in-car software for a long while, Apple said Monday at its WWDC event that full iOS integration with car dashboards will come in 2014.
Essentially, you’ll be able to see an iOS-like screen on your car dashboard and be able to talk with iOS to bring up applications. Functions that were shown on stage included calling, radio, messaging, and navigation. (We fully expect many more apps in the realm of music and navigation will line up to be part of this.)
Car brands that have signed up for iOS integration include Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Chevy, Kia, Infiniti, Hyundai, Volvo, Jaguar, Porsche, and Acura.
