Over 11 million people on Facebook now use Social Reader.

The Washington Post announced today its popular Social Reader app for Facebook® is now available as an app for iPhone, iPod touch, Android and Kindle Fire. The Social Reader app offers the same friend-centric news experience as the desktop version, inviting readers to experience news and information with their friends and discover personalized news stories fully hosted from over 30 publications.

“Making Social Reader mobile is more important than ever, considering that over 11 million people currently use it on Facebook. This mobile launch is just the first of many enhancements we’ll make, as we continue to develop the app,” said Vijay Ravindran, Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer of The Washington Post Company.

Since launching last September, Social Reader has continuously added new content partners. The latest include Newsweek & The Daily Beast, FOX Sports, The Atlantic, Rodale Inc.'s Men's Health and Women's Health, The Stream on Al Jazeera, Stiff Jab, cityeats.com, Gazette.Net and others. International publications have also recently joined Social Reader such as The Independent, breakingnews.ie from Ireland, and Bollywood Life and Cricket Country from India.
