Draft report of GOP-commissioned ballot review in Arizona

Updated Sep 24, 2021 at 9:49 AM EST

The Washington Post obtained a copy of a draft report prepared by private contractors who were hired by Republicans in the Arizona state Senate to review the ballots cast in Maricopa County in 2020. The ballot review -- which has been widely criticized by election experts as unprofessional, insecure and biased --  confirmed the accuracy of President Biden's win and the certified results, according to the draft. The draft also claims that ballots included in the totals could have been improperly accepted by the county, a claim dismissed by experts, who say the contractors showed little knowledge of election procedures.  The final report is set to be released Friday afternoon.
