As part of Helston Flora Day celebrations, couples take part in the Early Morning Dance, the first in a series throughout the day that go all over the town and even in and out of private houses and shops. However, the highlight is the midday dance that was traditionally the dance of the gentry in the town and is why men still wear top hats and tails while the women dance in their finest dresses.
