Bill Frist: gunshot victims in Capitol Sen. Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) aided victims of a shooting outside of the Capitol in 1998. Frist, a Harvard-trained heart surgeon, performed CPR on a man with multiple gunshot wounds, later identified by police to be the gunman. He also aided another man who had been shot in the face.
