Dating, or dithering?
Today’s question isn’t a question. It’s an observation from a reader, in response to a while-ago column (I set the response aside and then promptly forgot about it): “Five years is WAY too long to be in an exclusive relationship with a guy and not be married. I hope someone in this situation is not turning down dates from other suitors. I’m betting that if the guy meets another girl he thinks is “the one,” he will not hesitate to date her. Make him your conditional boyfriend and move around a bit.”
So here’s the question part of our program: Agree or disagree? Why? What variables would change your answer?
