An Alexandria man has been identified as the pedestrian killed Saturday when he was struck by a car in the Lorton area near the former Lorton prison.

Fairfax County police said Victor Savier Barillas Delao, 28, was crossing Ox Road, also known as Route 123, in the middle of a block near the intersection with Workhouse Road. A 2015 Honda Accord was heading south on Ox Road approaching the Workhouse Road intersection on a green light, and Delao was hit in the roadway at about 7:30 p.m., police said.

Delao was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene. Investigators preliminarily do not believe speed or alcohol were involved in the crash. Barillas Delao was the second pedestrian fatality in Fairfax this year.
