Man charged with murder in slaying of woman in Prince George’s

A 50-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in the killing of his girlfriend Tuesday in the Fort Washington area, Prince George’s County police said.

Marc Deangelo Evans, of Waldorf, is charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges in the slaying of Rema Gibson, 45, of Fort Washington, police said. He is being held without bond at the county Department of Corrections.

Gibson was found with a gunshot wound about 9:20 p.m. in an apartment building hallway in the 1000 block of Palmer Road in the Fort Washington area, police said.

She died at the scene, they said.

According to an initial investigation, police said Evans shot Gibson during a dispute. He was arrested at the scene.

It was not immediately clear whether Evans has an attorney.
