Two men were killed Thursday in a crash in Northern Virginia.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. along the westbound lanes of the Capital Beltway near the Telegraph Road exit in Fairfax County, according to Virginia State Police.

According to an initial investigation, a Toyota Corolla stopped in the center of the road’s westbound side, then two men got out. A Ford Ranger came up and hit their car and the two men, before another car also hit the men, police said.

Both men who were in the Toyota died at the scene.

The drivers in the Ford Ranger and other vehicle were not hurt, police said. Officials later identified the men who died as Abdellah Bougrine, 54, of Alexandria and Driss Bougrine, 59, of Fairfax. A spokeswoman for the police said she did not know whether the two were related.

The crash remains under investigation.
