A 15-year-old student at Fairfax County’s Mount Vernon High School was stabbed and wounded by another student Wednesday afternoon, Fairfax County police said.
Police said two juvenile suspects fled the school but were identified and soon taken into custody by officers.
The incident occurred just after 1:15 p.m., police said, and a shelter in place was put into effect at the school briefly until investigators determined the suspect had fled.
A Fairfax County schools spokesperson referred questions on the matter to police.
