Man killed in Lanham area, police say

Police are investigating a homicide in the 7700 block of Finns Lane.

A man was killed Tuesday morning in the Lanham area, Prince George’s County police said.

Officers responded at about 8:45 a.m. to the 7700 block of Finns Lane for a reported welfare check, police said. They found an adult male with gunshot wounds outside in a wooded area.

Police identified the victim Wednesday as Steven Prescott Sollers, 30, of no fixed address.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. An investigation is ongoing.
