Donald Trump Jr.: ’You don’t have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers that are trying to sell you on socialism’

In case you missed it, President Trump’s son Donald Trump Jr. made a speech at his father’s pro-border wall rally in El Paso on Monday night, and he took a shot at America’s “loser teachers,” whom he blamed for turning young people into socialists “from birth.”

During his address to a cheering crowd, Donald Jr. said the following:

“You know what I love? I love seeing some young conservatives because I know it’s not easy. (Crowd applauds and shouts.) Keep up that fight. Bring it to your schools. You don’t have to be indoctrinated by these loser teachers that are trying to sell you on socialism from birth. You don’t have to do it. Because you can think for yourselves. They can’t.” (Crowd applauds and shouts again.)

Setting aside the fact that babies don’t have teachers who can sell them on socialism, his comment reinforces President Trump’s comment about socialism in his recent State of the Union address. In what may be a new rallying cry for the GOP, the president said, “Here in the United States, we are alarmed by the new calls to adopt socialism in our country."

In any case, teachers and others were offended by Donald Jr.’s remark. Here are some of the responses on Twitter:
