Bret Turner has been teaching first and second grades for about eight years at the private Head-Royce School in the hills of Oakland, Calif. — although he is about to move on and do something different.

Turner has had some very amusing conversations with his students, which he has shared on his Twitter feed, providing rare moments of pleasure in what is ordinarily a sea of trouble.

Turner is also a musician and writer, sourdough baker and self-proclaimed baseball statistics nut. He lives in the San Francisco Bay area and has two young children. Now teaching summer school, Turner is planning to try something other than teaching.
