Young people by now know there is a disease called covid-19 that closed most of public life around the planet and shut down their schools, but they may not know much beyond that. Now the Smithsonian Institution has a new guide with science-based information and activities that can help.

The guide from the Smithsonian, the world’s largest museum and research complex, is targeted at students ages 8 to 18, though it can be adapted for other students as well. You can read it in its entirety below.

Carol O’Donnell, director of the Smithsonian Science Education Center, makes clear in an introduction that the guide is based on science, a statement that has special resonance at a time when President Trump repeatedly ignores what leading scientists tell him about best practices regarding covid-19.
