Schools around the world have opened for the new academic year, the third year affected by the pandemic.

Millions more children are back in brick-and-mortar schools now than at this time last year, when remote learning was the norm and classrooms that were open had students sitting far apart, sometimes with plexiglass barriers on each desk, and following strict health protocols.
