Jen A. Kiggans (R) is projected to win the District 2 race.

Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D) is projected to win the District 7 race.

U.S. House

Some of the country’s most competitive races are in the Old Dominion. The race in the Virginia Beach-anchored 2nd District — between Rep. Elaine Luria (D-Va.) and state Sen. Jen A. Kiggans (R-Virginia Beach) is one of the most competitive in the nation, one that Republicans see as essential in their bid to take control of Congress. Other competitive races include the 7th District, based in Prince William, where Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-Va.) is challenged by county official Yesli Vega (R), and the 10th District, where Rep. Jennifer Wexton (D-Va.) is facing a challenge from Navy veteran Hung Cao.
