Rep. David Schweikert wins Arizona's 6th Congressional District seat

Rep. David Schweikert, a Republican, has won another term representing Arizona's 6th Congressional District, beating Anita Malik, a Democrat.

With all precincts reporting, Schweikert has 55.2 percent of the vote, followed by Malik with 44.8 percent.

Schweikert has represented the district in the House since 2013.

Democrats have gained a majority in the House, with 235 seats in the next Congress. All of Arizona's House seats have been decided; one switched hands, going to Democrats.

The number of votes cast for Democrats in House races has increased 55.0 percent from the 2014 midterms, compared with an increase of 25.6 percent for Republicans.

The district went for President Trump, a Republican, in 2016 by a margin of 9.8 points. Trump won Arizona by 3.5 points.
