Rep. Charlie Crist wins Florida's 13th Congressional District seat

Rep. Charlie Crist, a Democrat, has won another term representing Florida's 13th Congressional District, beating George Buck, a Republican.

With all precincts reporting, Crist has 57.6 percent of the vote, followed by Buck with 42.4 percent.

Crist has represented the district in the House since 2017.

Democrats have gained a majority in the House, with 235 seats in the next Congress. All of Florida's House seats have been decided; two switched hands, all going to Democrats.

The number of votes cast for Democrats in House races has increased 55.0 percent from the 2014 midterms, compared with an increase of 25.6 percent for Republicans.

The district went for Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016 by a margin of 3.2 points. President Trump, a Republican, won Florida by 1.2 points.
