Dan Meuser wins Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District seat

Republican Dan Meuser has beaten Denny Wolff, a Democrat, in the race for the House seat representing Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District, currently held by Republican Bill Shuster.

With all precincts reporting, Meuser has 59.7 percent of the vote, followed by Wolff with 40.3 percent.

Democrats have gained a majority in the House, with 235 seats in the next Congress. All of Pennsylvania's House seats have been decided; five switched hands, with four going to Democrats and one going to Republicans.

The number of votes cast for Democrats in House races has increased 55.0 percent from the 2014 midterms, compared with an increase of 25.6 percent for Republicans.

Trump won Pennsylvania by 0.7 points.
