U.S. House

The court-drawn maps in New York created chaos for Democrats, shuffling incumbents around and even pitting some against each other. The 12th District Democratic primary has two incumbents and House committee chairs – Reps. Jerrod Nadler and Carolyn B. Maloney – facing each other to represent part of upper Manhattan. Rep. Mondaire Jones (D), who currently represents the 17th District, is running in the 10th District after Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D) decided to run in the 17th.

The Post estimated the lean of 2022 congressional districts using 2020 presidential results by precinct from Decision Desk HQ and estimates where actual votes at the precinct level were unavailable. Districts classified as “Strong Biden” and “Strong Trump” show where a candidate is estimated to have won by 15 percentage points or more. “Lean Biden” and “Lean Trump” districts had estimated vote margins between five and 15 points. “Close” districts show an estimated margin within five points.
