TV highlights: ABC airs a behind-the-scenes ‘Frozen’ special

Because America just can’t let it go, “The Story of Frozen: Making a Disney Animated Classic” (ABC at 8 p.m.) looks behind the scenes of Disney’s most popular animated feature in recent memory with interviews from voice-cast members Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel and visits to the actual villages that inspired the kingdom of Arendelle.

“Great Performances at the Met” (MPT at 8) broadcasts a version of Verdi’s “Falstaff” that’s updated to take place in 1950s-era London and stars Ambrogio Maestri as the boorish Sir John Falstaff, who seduces two wives to pay off his debts.

A high school teacher competes against a slew of culinary professionals including chef Jet Tila on “Food Fighters” (NBC at 8).

“The Fidel Castro Tapes” (WETA at 9) profiles the former Cuban leader with a reliance on media reports and rarely seen footage from the Cuban archive that covers his rise to power in the late 1950s and his decision to cede power to his brother Raúl in 2008.

RETURNING SHOW: On the tail of Jill Duggar’s pregnancy announcement, “19 Kids and Counting” (TLC at 9) returns for Season 9 with exclusive footage of Jill and Derick’s wedding.

RETURNING SHOW: Now in its 36th cycle, “Inside the NFL” (Showtime at 9) opens with free agent Ed Reed and current Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall joining Phil Simms, Boomer Esiason and host Greg Gumbel for field commentary.

“ATL: The Untold Story of Atlanta’s Rise in the Rap Game” (VH1 at 10) chronicles the boom of the rap industry in Atlanta and the forceful crew of lyricists the city has to thank for it. Features interviews with Ludacris, Usher, T.I. and Lil Jon.

“Drunk History” (Comedy Central at 10:30) pours one out for the first ladies with former “Happy Endings” lead Casey Wilson as Dolley Madison and Alia Shawkat of “Arrested Development” fame playing Frances Cleveland.

Maroon 5 frontman and actor Adam Levine and television host Meredith Vieira come to “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (NBC at 11:35), with music from Maroon 5.

Actor Luke Wilson and television host Julie Chen are on the “Late Show With David Letterman” (CBS at 11:35), with musical guest Lee Brice.

Actress Eva Longoria stops by “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC at 11:35), with rapper Wiz Khalifa.
