TV highlights for Dec. 2: ‘2 Broke Girls,’ ‘CMA Country Christmas’

Further wedding hilarity ensues for Barney and Robin when he tries to convince her to have the rehearsal dinner at a laser tag venue on the latest “How I Met Your Mother” (CBS at 8 p.m.). Then, Ted upsets Lily when he breaks a promise.

Caroline takes Max to her childhood nanny’s funeral on “2 Broke Girls” (CBS at 8:30), but once she’s there she realizes that, much to her shock, the woman never mentioned Caroline to her own family.

ABC is bringing back the ultimate country music Christmas special to ABC with “CMA Country Christmas” (9). Four-time host Jennifer Nettles emcees this night of traditional song and holiday memories from such country music stars as Trace Adkins, Kellie Pickler and Darius Rucker. Sheryl Crow, Lucy Hale and Michael W. Smith also make appearances.

The documentary “The Battle of AmfAR” (HBO at 9) shows how Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor and research scientist Mathilde Krim fought to create America’s first national AIDS research foundation.

SERIES PREMIERE: Buddy Valastro, aka the “Cake Boss,” hits the road on “Bakery Boss” (TLC at 9) to show other American bakers how it’s done. The first episode has Valastro visiting a Hungarian pastry shop in Queens.

SERIES PREMIERE: For most of us, death is a time to mourn and shed tears for the departed. For others on the show “Best Funeral Ever” (TLC at 10), it’s a time to honor their loved ones and celebrate the life through services that reinvent the traditional funeral. Earlier this year, TLC introduced viewers to the Dallas-based Golden Gate Funeral Home, where John Beckwith Jr. and his staff organize the most unique funerals in the country, called home-going celebrations.

SERIES PREMIERE: An animated comedy from Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, “Rick & Morty” (Adult Swim at 10:30), follows the adventures of a mad scientist who returns after 20 years to live with his daughter, her husband and their children.

Actor Sylvester Stallone and actress Anna Faris are on “The Late Show With David Letterman” (CBS at 11:35), along with musical guest Deltron 3030.

Kim Kardashian and actress Abigail Breslin join “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” (NBC at 11:35), with a musical performance from Two Door Cinema Club.

Actor Orlando Bloom and mixed-martial-artist Ronda Rousey come to “Jimmy Kimmel Live” (ABC at 11:35), with musical guest the Wild Feathers.
