» Honeymoon: Japan, to see a medieval village in the mountains.

» How They Met: She was choreographing a college production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” He was in the cast.

» First Impressions: “I thought he was cute but not a great dancer.”

» First Date: After “A Funny Thing,” she went to Scotland for a semester. He came to visit her over spring break. “We had a weeklong first date filled with castles and haggis,” Rob says.

» How He Proposed: During the Fourth of July fireworks near the Reflecting Pool. “He opened a ring box and asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ I replied, ‘Are you shitting me?’ Then I said yes!”

» Celebrating Heritage: Rob’s dad is from Malaysia, so they’ll have a Chinese tea ceremony at the reception.

» Making It Unique: They’re hosting a “Battle of the Pies:” moon pies (she’s from Alabama) versus whoopie pies (he’s from Massachusetts). “The number left at the end of the night will decide it,” Beth says.
