Lauren Hubbard, Ryan Williams

Lauren, 25, is a speech-language pathologist. Ryan, also 25, works in health care and is finishing his master’s.They live in Arlington.

The Main Event: They will wed Oct. 5 in New Orleans, where Lauren’s parents and grandmother live. In addition to their three-tier traditional wedding cake, they’re serving mini cheesecakes and beignets.

How They Met: In college at the University of Central Florida, Orlando. “I saw her in her towel as she was coming out of the shower, and I knew I had to ask her out.”

First Impressions: “I thought he was a bad boy/ladies’ man, because he showed up to our first dorm hall meeting late, in pajamas.”

First Date: The Cheesecake Factory on Valentine’s Day.

How He Proposed: After Christmas break, at the Baywalk pier in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Their Song: “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King. “No matter what has happened in the seven years we have been together, we always support one another 100 percent,” says Lauren.

When She Knew: “Being together since we were 18 has given us the opportunity to get to know each other,” Lauren says. “I know he will be a great husband and dad.”
