Jeff, 43, is a sales training manager. Renée, 40, is a museum curator. They will live in D.C.

The Main Event: A Nov. 3 wedding at a restaurant and farm overlooking the Potomac.

How They Met: After a few witty emails, they decided to meet for drinks at Central, one of Renée’s favorite restaurants.

First Impressions: “I hoped the brunette reading the book would be my date.”

First Date: The drinks quickly turned into a meal of lobster burgers and frites. “I like how we both agreed to splurge,” Renée says.

How He Proposed: A concert at the Kennedy Center, champagne and roses at her apartment, and dinner at Central to celebrate.

Their Song: “Let’s Stay Together” by Al Green. “The song is on the wedding playlist,” Jeff says. Also, “Renée is letting me play the ‘Hokie Pokie,’ since I went to Virginia Tech.”

Most Hated Clothing Item: His Cowboys shirt. “As a good Maryland girl, I don’t like the Cowboys.”

Mmm, Cake: Their guests will be noshing on pumpkin, apple and pecan pies, but the bride and groom get a chocolate-peanut-butter cake.
