“This ain’t your momma’s talk show” is what Meghan McCain, daughter of Cindy, says about her new series (10 p.m. Saturdays, Pivot), in which she travels the U.S. interviewing people about issues of importance to millennials.
The show is called “Raising McCain.” Momma would never make a LAME JOKE LIKE THAT.
So is this talk show truly different from other talk shows? “I have so many questions that I want answered,” Meghan says in a promo for the show.
Here are some of the questions she asks of guests:
Do you consider yourself a feminist?
Do you ever send naked pictures of yourself?
Why do women love assholes?
What can the average [expletive] American do to help everyone?
Dear Meghan: EVERY TALK SHOW HOST EVER has asked those questions.
Nonetheless, Meghan stands out in the talk-show world. She speaks real fast and has a high-pitched staccato giggle. Sometimes she wears flannel and a knit cap. In one segment, she climbs a ladder her associate says is “scary” to hang a stuffed deer head on the wall. Oprah sure didn’t do that!
Correction: This article originally stated that Meghan McCain is Cindy McCain’s stepdaughter. Meghan McCain is Cindy McCain’s daughter.
