New details on The Royal, a bar from Vinoteca’s owner

By late May, this building in LeDroit Park will be The Royal, a neighborhood bar with an all-day menu from Paul Carlson, the owner of Vinoteca.

Early last year, Paul Carlson, above, of Vinoteca announced plans to open The Royal, a neighborhood hangout in LeDroit Park. He shared a few new details about the space, which is projected to open in late May.

  • The building is small, with enough seating for about 50.
  • There will be a breakfast menu, and a bar menu that runs from lunch through midnight.
  • Dishes will be Latin-leaning, but chef Lonnie Zoeller will draw inspiration from around the world.
  • A wood-fired grill will cook meats butchered in-house, veggies and fish.
  • Coffee from Counter Culture Coffee will be served throughout the day.
