In warm weather, most people stick to the basics when ordering cocktails: mojitos, margaritas or rickeys. But local creations that capture the flavors of the season make it more than worth it to break out of your summer routine.
Neve Joelle, Bourbon SteakIt’s strawberry season, and Duane Sylvestre’s special house-bottled strawberry-and-bay leaf soda at Bourbon Steak is my favorite way to enjoy the fruit in a cocktail. The mixologist combines that seasonal fizz with gin and Cointreau orange liqueur, adds a touch of lemon and shakes it with egg white to give it a creamy texture. Even better: The rest of that bottle of sunny soda is served on the side, so you can keep enjoying it after the cocktail is gone.
