Republican women face hurdles

Women of color break barriers

Donald Trump’s victory over the first female major-party nominee for president galvanized a movement of women to march, organize and seek office, shattering records. There are historic levels of women running for House seats. A third of those are women of color. While most of the candidates are Democrats, Republican women are also running in increasing numbers — and doing so in support of Trump’s core policies.
