New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie burst onto the national stage in 2010 with a “you want a piece of me?” bluster that some found refreshing and entertaining and others found immature and even bullying. As it became increasingly clear that getting a YouTube-worthy rise out of the Republican was fairly easy, opponents learned to exploit his combustibility to draw attention to their causes.
