Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Dave Grohl led a midnight Second Line parade down 14 Street NW

U Street Corridor revelers in Washington D.C. got a surprise early morning Saturday when Dave Grohl and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band lead a Second Line-style parade down 14 Street NW.

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the house band for the New Orleans venue by the same name, performed Friday afternoon at the Freedom Sounds: A Community Celebration concert on the Mall. The three day concert is part of the National Museum of African American History and Culture opening weekend celebrations.

Dave Grohl, a Washington Area native and Foo Fighters front man, is clearly a fan.
