Kerry Washington is nominated for her portrayal of Anita Hill in HBO’s “Confirmation,” but she was just a kid when the Senate confirmation hearings on Clarence Thomas’s nomination to the Supreme Court began. She remembers her parents arguing about the controversy.
“I had a compassion for both sides of the story,” she said. “It was thrilling to produce this film and to star in it.”
The Globes mark the second star-studded event for the “Scandal” star this weekend. She and her husband, former NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha, attended President Obama’s goodbye party Friday at the White House.
Washington told Ryan Seacrest that the president was still on the dance floor when she left the party at 3:30 a.m. “He deserves to party,” she said.
