Emma Stone, tell us about your dress. ‘It’s pink and there are stars on it.’

“So, tell me about your dress?” is kind of a red carpet euphemism for “Who are you wearing?,” which we’ve apparently evolved past. But when Ryan Seacrest asked Emma Stone that question, she responded, “It’s pink and there are stars on it.” Touché, Emma. (It was Valentino, by the way.)

The Golden Globe nominee for “La La Land” also talked about a memorable scene in the movie when she’s auditioning for a role and, in the middle of a teary monologue, gets interrupted by the casting director’s assistant. As it turns out, that happened in real life to her co-star Ryan Gosling, so writer-director Damien Chazelle included it in the script. How cathartic.
