Readers’ top 5 online recipe picks for December

December brought another round of holiday cookie recipes, and it was the first full month in which we could monitor our updated, more user-friendly Recipe Finder. (How are you liking it, folks?) Here are the most-viewed online recipes of the month:

1. Extremely Slow-Roasted Turkey Breast. No small triumph to overcome the popularity of recipes dubbed “quick” and “easy.” This preparation does qualify as the latter, however; from Andrew Schloss’s “Cooking Slow: Recipes for Slowing Down and Cooking More,” one of our our top cookbook picks of the year.

4. Chocolate Rum Balls. No-bake, made with chocolate wafers and an unexpected bit of maple syrup. Why make these only during the holidays?

5. Salt Caramel Millionaire’s Shortbread. A marbled layer of chocolate and caramel tops a buttery shortbread base.
